Powder Shakers
Our powder shakers are the classic, traditional "talc shaker". My mother used to buy Yardley Lavender Talc and Soap (back when Yardley was at the "Clinique" level, not the K-Mart level) and it came in a cardboard tube container with a white shaker top just like these. Even now, 40 years later, they are the standard. Check Avon or even Burt's Bee's and you'll see this same powder shaker in their lines.
These Powder Tubes are being manufactured for us in the traditional talc size 1 7/8" in diameter, 5" high. They hold 4 - 5 oz. of powder, depending on how dense it is (you'll need to weigh your product to ensure the correct weight on the label). The tubes themselves are made of cardboard lined with parchment paper (environmentally friendly!). The outside is a white semi-gloss paper - a reasonably neutral background for whatever you want to use as a label.
The top and bottom inserts are made of plastic. The top is glued in; the bottom insert is "friction fit". The bottoms push in reasonably easily and won't come out on their own, but can be removed with a little judicious prying without damaging the tube itself.
